2017 UPDATE

Since PtR was formed in 2009 Mark & Jenny have worked hard to increase its profile around Birmingham and the Midlands. Our faith in its benefits for people, who before its creation may have felt excluded from taking part in a class, is what has driven us and our loyal instructors on.

We now have calls daily requesting us to supply instructors for new classes or for Mark to go out to have a chat with organizations who want to know more about our Association.

The only thing that limited us was the constant need for more instructors as we cover so many areas most times and days of the week, plus the Active Parks programme.

To this end we now have a bespoke training scheme that is run in four modules over a year which has had a very good uptake from many areas of the NHS including Physiotherapist, occupational therapists, and their class assistants, plus main stream Tai Chi instructors who wish to specialize in this area. They come from all around the country and because of this PtR now does have some affiliated teachers in those areas.

It has been a really motivating experience hearing from the people who have been helped by attending open day time classes or taking part in them at residential establishments, who previously would have been excluded because of health or travel problems.

If your group cannot get to us we will get to you.

We have been very lucky to have kept a loyal and dedicated group of instructors who continue to put in time and effort to fulfil their commitment to the people they teach.

This means PtR classes will never be static, and people will always improve, however small that improvement may seem.

There is a saying within Tai Chi “Every journey starts with the first step”and more and more people are now able to take that first step.
